We would like to invite you to the 20th meeting of the International GBAS Working Group, which will be hosted by FAA and United Airlines from 17-20 June 2019 in Denver, CO, USA.
United Airlines has generously offered to provide the forum for the 20th International GBAS Working Group. The conference will be held at the United Airlines Flight Training Center, Denver. Home to more than 30 full flight simulators, the Denver Flight Training Centre supports each of the airline’s 12,000-plus pilots every year for new and recurrent training, along with pilots from more than two dozen other airlines and government agencies who visit the campus annually to sharpen their skills. In addition to pilots, the centre hosts flight attendants and maintenance technicians for emergency training and other activities.
United Airlines has shown long-term commitment to GLS, with a steadily increasing rate of equipage and operational GBAS sites at two U.S. hub airports, with a third coming online in 2019 (SFO).
All participants are invited to provide information on their GBAS activity status. Due to the number of contributions we would, however, invite you to limit status presentations to ten minutes or less. More detailed presentations regarding technical, operational, and approval topics are welcome in the working sessions.
Shelly Beauchamp (FAA) and Andreas Lipp (EUROCONTROL)
